| Science at the Summit |

| The Science at the Summit programme is presented by the South African Department of Science and Technology (DST), in collaboration with several European partners, on the occasion of the Third South Africa – European Union Summit. Running from Monday 27 to Wednesday 29 September 2010, the Science at the Summit programme will comprise a series of seminars, each highlighting different strategic dimensions of S&T cooperation between South Africa and the EU.

| The Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) programme office have been invited to organise a COST session on the Food and Agriculture theme during the E-Africa conference that will be held on 8-10 September at the Protea Hotel Fire and Ice, in Melrose Arch, South Africa. The E-Africa conference focuses on e-services for Agriculture, Food, Environment and Life Sciences in Africa. The COST session will be held on 10 September from 14:00-16:30, and will be targeted at the conference participants and other SA Food and Agriculture (F&A) researchers who may not be part of the main conference.

| Joint Stakeholder Conference of the ACP-EU EDULINK and Science & Technology Programmes |

| The aim of the conference is to bring together stakeholders in the fields of Higher Education and Science and Technology. It will offer an excellent opportunity to network and discuss subjects of general interest. The conference will also inform about the new Calls for Proposals of both Programmes. The conference languages will be English and French and simultaneous translation will be provided. Participation in the conference is free, but please note that the EDULINK and ACP S&T Programmes will not cover travel and accommodation/subsistence costs.
